Upcycled vintage wardrobe with opulent Japanese art

 Vintage painted wardrobe wrapped in evergreen Japanese art became functional storage for hallway in Claires home

This vintage Stag wardrobe was salvaged from landfill in the house clearance. At the same time Claire was hatching ideas and looking for storage solution to her hallway: how to maintain an order when more people visits and all their coats lands where ever.

Creative journey of bespoke furniture

To incorporate vintage gentleman's wardrobe wasn't easy task. Firs we met online for design consultation to explore the possibilities and get to know each other and Claires home. Light and spacious rooms with bold oriental style interior decor encouraged Claire to go even further. We came up with idea to transform this double door Mid-century modern wardrobe into elegant and light Japanese style unit.

 This piece had a previous life and could have little signs of it, even after it has been given a new look. All upcycled furniture might have minor imperfections due to its age. Even when refinished to the highest standards, handmade items only partially match the factory finish.
